内容記述 | In this paper, a brief history of the motivational impact on students of using hand-held devices to study English in Japanese classrooms is explored. A low stakes experience was conducted in which students were trained in how to use the built-in, free voice-to-text and text- to-voice AI technology in their phones to capture their own pronunciation. Students were asked about their immediate reactions to the technology and if they had subsequently transferred this skill to other situations. Of the 33 students who had exposure to the lesson, 15 responded with universally positive reactions. | |||||||
